It is completely portable and punches extremely accurate key blanks by code very quickly and effortlessly. It is very easy to change from one manufacturer to another because depth and space adjustments are never required. The code cards have depth and space indicators, all the pertinent information such as punch, jaw, code series, blanks etc....is right at your finger tips. Quite often, just replacing a code card is all that is required to change from one manufacturer to another - eezy peezy

Not all key blanks are suitable for punching. To successfully punch the key, the blank must have a flat side. Some key blanks that have a paracentric keyway, they do not have a flat side. Unfortunately this type of key would be distorted if it is punched. These keys must be cut on a milling machine instead
For the keys that can be punched, you need to determine from which side the blank should be inserted into the Punch Machine. To determine if a key blank should be inserted from the left side or right side, hold the blank by the bow and point the tip of the key towards you. As your looking down the blade of the key, from tip to bow, if the flat side of the blank is on the left it must be inserted from the right side. If the flat side of the blank is on the right side it must be inserted from the left side. The flat part of the blade must be on the bottom when inserted.
