Request to Exit (X): Request to Exit (X) is an SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switch which monitors the push bar of the exit device. The X switch can be used to activate a door alarm, control a magnetic locking device, shunt a door alarm or signal a control console when the push bar is depressed.
